The equipment was flagged for inspection due to irregularities in the shipping documents. Upon investigation, CBP confirmed it had been reported as stolen. This seizure underscores CBP’s critical role in preventing the illegal transfer of stolen goods across U.S. borders and safeguarding the interests of legitimate owners.
Over 14,000 Pounds of Prohibited Fruit Seized at Texas Border
CBP officers in Texas intercepted a shipment containing more than 14,000 pounds of prohibited fruit, intended for import into the United States. Importation of these fruits is restricted to prevent the introduction of invasive pests and diseases that could endanger U.S. agriculture. $65K in Unreported Currency Seized at Pharr International Bridge
At the Pharr International Bridge, CBP officers, supported by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), discovered a traveler attempting to leave the country with $65,000 in unreported currency. Under U.S. law, travelers must declare amounts over $10,000 when entering or leaving the country to prevent financial crimes. Cincinnati CBP Officers Continue to Seize Unapproved Weight Loss Drugs
Since the start of summer, CBP officers at the Port of Cincinnati have intercepted multiple shipments of unapproved weight loss drugs, including Ozempic, Wegovy, and Trulicity. This trend continued into October, with two additional shipments being seized this past month. Unregulated pharmaceuticals pose significant risks to public health, and CBP works to prevent these potentially dangerous products from entering the U.S.
Philadelphia CBP Catches Trusted Traveler with $80K in Undeclared Overseas Purchases
CBP officers at Philadelphia International Airport stopped a Global Entry Trusted Traveler returning from Spain on Halloween. The traveler attempted to bring $80,000 worth of undeclared overseas purchases into the country, violating duty and reporting requirements. This case highlights CBP’s dedication to enforcing compliance, even among travelers granted expedited entry privileges through programs like Global Entry.
