OFAC Updates Week 12/20/21

December 21, 2021

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has updated their Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) list with Libya designation removals. The two removals were variations of a single individual.


December 22, 2021

OFAC has issued a fact sheet on the "Provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Afghanistan and Support for the Afghan People." OFAC has also issued Afghanistan-related Counter Terrorism General Linceses 17, 18 and 19:

Additionally, OFAC has published the related new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) 950, 951, 952, 954, 954, 955 while also amending FAQs 928, 929 and 931. Lastly, the SDN List has been updated with counter terrorism designations consisting of three individuals and two entities.


December 23, 2021

OFAC has issued an amendment to the Weapons of Mass Destruction Trade Control Regulations. This amendment added a 2005 Executive Order (E.O.) as an authority, removed an appendix and modified three definitions referencing the removed appendix. The 2005 E.O. was E.O. 13382, "Blocking Property of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferators and Their Supporters."


OFAC has reached a settlement agreement of $115,005.04 with T.D. Bank, N.A. (TDBNA) over apparent violations of the North Korea Sanctions Regulations and the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Sanctions Regulations. In both cases, TDBNA maintained accounts for individuals that required the authorization of a license from OFAC. OFAC considered this case to be non-egregious.
