OFAC Updates Week 12/21/20

December 21, 2020

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has updated their Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List with Cuba and Nicaragua-related designations. The Nicaragua-related designations targeted three individuals while the Cuba designations were placed upon three entities.

December 22, 2020

OFAC has amended their SDN List with novel and updated Syria-related designations. OFAC has also issued three new Syria Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): 866, 867 and 868.


December 23, 2020

OFAC has updated their SDN List with Belarus designations while also removing specified Iraq-related designations.


OFAC has issued Venezuela-related General License 5F but has also amended the related FAQ 595.


OFAC has also issued Ukraine-related General License No. 13P, "Authorizing Certain Transactions Necessary to Divest or Transfer Debt, Equity, or other Holdings in GAZ Group" and General License No. 15J, "Authorizing Certain Activities involving GAZ Group."
