OFAC Updates Week 12/13/21

December 15, 2021

The Office of Foreign Assets Control has updated their Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list in accordance with the new Executive Order (E.O.), Imposing Sanctions on Foreign Persons Involved in the Global Illicit Drug Trade. The E.O. is specifically aimed at combating the trafficking of illegal drugs into the U.S. but specifically mentions fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. In response to this E.O., OFAC has also updated its SDN List with a designation on a Chinese individual, seven designations on Mexican, Chinese and Brazillian entities and has also made changes to seventeen designations.


December 16, 2021

OFAC has updated its Non-SDN Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Companies (NS-CMIC) List with designations on eight entities. OFAC also made administrative updates to its SDN, Consolidated, NS-CMIC and Sectoral Sanctions Identifications (SSI) Lists.


December 17, 2021

OFAC has updated its SDN List with a single designation of an individual from the Central African Republic.
