The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has updated their Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List with Russian and non-proliferation designations. The two designations were centers for scientific research in Saratov and Moscow.


September 16, 2021

OFAC has updated their SDN List with Kingpin Act designations. Kingpin Act designations are placed upon individuals suspected of facilitating crimes related to drug trafficking. The designations consisted of four Colombian individuals and two Colombian entities.


OFAC has updated their SDN List with counter terrorism designations. The five designations were all Turkish individuals linked to AL QA'IDA.


September 17, 2021

President Biden has signed the Executive Order (EO) "Imposing Sanctions on Certain Persons with Respect to the Humanitarian and Human Rights Crisis in Ethiopia." In response to this EO OFAC has issued the following Ethiopia General Licenses:

Additionally OFAC has also published related Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 922, 923, 924, 925, 926 and 927.


OFAC has sent out a reminder that the due date for the Annual Report of Blocked Property is due September 30. All holders of blocked property, held as of June 30, 2021, must be filed using the TD F 90-22.50 form and emailed to ofacreport@treasury.gov.
