My Story

Anthony as a Lawyer

Anthony has practiced law for more than 18 years, advising businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, and individuals on complex business and regulatory matters in domestic and international contexts.

His practice has included commercial contracts and transactions, business acquisitions and sales, corporate formation and financing, venture-capital transactions, international agreements, and cross-border investment. He has also assisted foreign businesses and investors seeking to establish or expand operations in the United States.

Anthony’s current work increasingly focuses on international trade and customs compliance, including matters involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). He assists importers with tariff and product classification and prior disclosures involving potential duties, taxes, and penalties. He also advises clients on U.S. economic sanctions and OFAC compliance.

His extensive corporate experience gives him a practical understanding of risk management and allows him to provide legal advice that considers both regulatory requirements and clients’ commercial objectives.

Anthony as a Corporate Executive

Before practicing law, Anthony spent approximately two decades in senior corporate and management positions with Microsoft and ExxonMobil.

At Microsoft, Anthony rose to General Manager, with responsibilities involving worldwide operations, licensing, e-commerce, and corporate contracts. He negotiated significant agreements with major corporations and managed international operations associated with billions of dollars in annual business. During Microsoft’s rapid growth in the 1990s, Anthony presented projects directly to Bill Gates, obtained approval for initiatives and budgets, and reported project progress to him.

Before Microsoft, Anthony spent approximately ten years with ExxonMobil/Exxon USA, ultimately serving in a director-level role involving nationwide distribution systems. Earlier in his Exxon career, he worked with attorneys on major international oil and gas contracts.

These experiences allow Anthony to communicate effectively with boards of directors, CEOs, senior executives, entrepreneurs, technical personnel, and legal teams.

Anthony as an Educator

Anthony has taught MBA-level courses in entrepreneurship and venture-capital fundraising as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston, Louisiana State University, and Seattle University School of Law.

His teaching focused on transforming business ideas into viable companies, developing entrepreneurial strategies, and preparing businesses to raise investment capital.

Anthony as a Community Advocate

In 2008, Anthony founded Guardian of Freedom for Women, a Seattle-based nonprofit dedicated to advocating for women experiencing abuse. The organization provided services entirely pro bono, assisting women throughout the United States and, in some instances, internationally.

Through this work, Anthony and the organization advocated for the legal rights, safety, and protection of women who otherwise might not have had access to legal assistance.
