My Story
Susan has been a civil practitioner and litigator for over 20 years, principally handling commercial, contract, and business disputes. She has represented creditors in both the commercial and consumer contexts, including advising on Fair Debt Collections Practices Act compliance and patient privacy law. She represents creditors before Trustees in Bankruptcy Court and in related adversary proceedings. After moving to Oregon from the East Coast, Susan’s main client base became wineries, vineyards and agricultural product and service suppliers for which she provides a broad array of contract and advisory work, including helping clients comply with applicable State and Federal regulations. She assists attorneys across the country with complex research and writing in a range of substantive areas that include breach of contract, insurance coverage, personal injury, real estate, civil procedure, and appeals. She has represented patients at Oregon State Hospital in administrative law hearings and served as pro bono counsel for a horse rescue organization. Susan sat on the Portland Oregon Police Bureau, Independent Police Review Board. In her free time, she helps at the winery in which she and her husband are financial partners. Susan and her husband are also partnered with a James Beard Award winning Chef in two Portland restaurants. She enjoys theater and ballet; is a fitness enthusiast; and will get lost in a jigsaw puzzle.
