OFAC Updates Week 8/16/21

August 19, 2021

The Office of Foreign Assets Control has updated their Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List with Global Magnitsky [GLOMAG] designations. The three designations were placed upon three Cuban individuals with ties to the Cuban army or governmental armed forces.


August 20, 2021

President Biden has signed a new Executive Order (E.O.), "Blocking Property with Respect to Certain Russian Energy Export Pipelines." In compliance with this E.O. OFAC has issued Russia-related General License 1A, Authorizing Certain Activities Involving Federal State Budgetary Institution Marine Rescue Service. OFAC has also issued the related Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) 921 while also updating FAQ 894. Additionally OFAC has published FAQ 919 and 920 related to Non-proliferation Designations updates. Finally, OFAC has added a variety of Russian designations to the SDN list including nine individuals, seven entities and thirteen vessels while updating five other previously established but related designations .
